Never Let Me Go Screening in Manila

Before I call it a day, let me just say that one of my favorite novels of all time (now a major motion picture) is going to be FINALLY (after months of waiting) shown here in Manila. Only in Glorietta 4 and Greenbelt 3 - so you know it's a "sophisticated" film. Haha!
Jarvin and I were supposed to watch earlier but we got tamad to go to Makati and watched From Prada to Nada instead which is a total let down - no fashion at all. Horrible camera focus and the styling is so wrong.
Anyway, Never Let Me Go is written by Ishiguro Kazuo who is although Japanese, writes very Western. Think of children clones being raised whose sole purpose is to donate their organs for "real" humans. "We took away your art because we thought it would reveal your souls. Or to put it more finely, we did it to prove you had souls at all." Totally gut wrenching.
"Understated, ethereal British elegance in its style and cinematography ... churlish and unforgiving in love and life, and one of the most discreetly disturbing films you will see." - Lisa Giles-Keddie (Real.com)
