Manila Kid

Vision

Manila Kid is a movement that promotes Manila's young and vibrant image through the efforts of the youth. It dreams of rebranding the image of Metro Manila from a city of poverty and degradation into a city bursting with life and color - something that the future generations would appreciate and be proud of.

Mission

It plans to create an avenue where the youth can channel and continue their passions in fueling patriotism through three forms:

·         Merchandise: Manila Kid will have its own merchandise (t-shirts, bags) where familiar and homegrown icons will be reinterpreted into post-modern graphic designs. It will also partner with starting brands which uphold the core values of Manila Kid.

·        Community of Bloggers: Manila Kid will establish a circle of regular contributors who will write about the latest trends, fashion, music, food, art scene to practically anything in the metro. Featured personalities will also be interviewed to share their point of view on what’s happening in the Metro.

·         Social Advocacy: Manila Kid will create a concrete impact in the lives of the city's less fortunate youth. It will partner with a charity dealing with children, so every time a customer buys a merchandise, a portion of the payment will go to the kids of Tuklasan Center.

*Manila Kid will launch its own website where our customers, readers, partners and anyone interested can check the latest designs of merchandise and its brand partners, the Manila Report from the youth’s perspective through the community of bloggers, and the social initiatives in our chosen charity.

If you are a graphic designer, blogger/journalist, student, investor, idealist or someone who believes and loves this city, don't hesitate to email us at neilpalteng@gmail.com or johnleynard_palteng@yahoo.com. We'd like to hear of what you think.

We believe that this is one step in giving a better home for the next generation, for the next Manila kids.

Manila Kid is a project initiated by me and my brother. I got my graduation gift and instead of having a tour around Asia/Europe or buying something really expensive, I'm investing it on something worth while and eventually fulfilling.
